Dorrie is a Master’s level therapist who has over 5 years of experience in the mental health field working with clients with a variety of presenting concerns. She obtained her master’s degree in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University in 2022, and is passionate about providing evidence-based care to clients in a safe and affirming environment.

Dorrie is a Nashville native and loves working with and serving this community. She attended Lipscomb University for her undergraduate studies, where she received her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Fine Art. While obtaining her master’s at Vanderbilt, Dorrie completed her first practicum at the Nashville OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center working with kids, teens, and adults with OCD, anxiety, and related disorders. Dorrie also has experience working in a university counseling setting, and loves working with young adults experiencing developmental or relationship concerns that might be impacting their anxiety or OCD diagnosis. Dorrie is passionate about creating an inclusive and affirming therapeutic space for her clients and is particularly passionate about helping clients in the LGBTQIA+ community.

In regards to her therapeutic approach, Dorrie utilizes a range of therapeutic techniques; tailoring her approach to best fit the client she is working with. She primarily depends upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other client-centered and mindfulness-based techniques.

When not seeing clients, Dorrie enjoys spending time being creative by drawing or painting, cooking yummy food, taking care of her ever-growing plant collection, and spending time exploring with her husband and rescue pup, Theodore.
